A clearer health declaration

A clearer health declaration

From 1 January 2026 the health declaration (gezondheidsverklaring) is shorter, clearer and easier to read. All questions and explanations have been rewritten as short sentences at B1 level. The questions have also been checked medically and legally.

There are two versions of the declaration: the full version with 19 questions, and the short version for over-75s and professional drivers with 14 questions.

ASD and AD(H)D removed from the questionnaire

Over time it became clear that several changes were also needed due to developments inside and outside the CBR (the Dutch driving test authority). The most important is the removal of the questions about ASD and AD(H)D. This is because the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management will remove the relevant sections from the fitness-to-drive regulation as of 1 April 2026.

Why this change?

Because of developments in legislation, it is no longer necessary to declare these conditions as standard for fitness to drive. Applicants therefore no longer have to answer questions about them.

From when does this apply?

The renewed health declaration is available from 1 January 2026 in Mijn CBR (the CBR online portal). The digital questions about ASD and AD(H)D are withdrawn on 1 April 2026.
